Indonesia appeal

All We Can and The Methodist Church in Britain have launched an urgent appeal for the people of Indonesia following the destruction caused by the earthquake and tsunami on Sulawesi.

75 years of MHA

MHA is marking its 75th anniversary of providing care, support and accommodation to older people with a Service of Thanksgiving at Derby Cathedral on Saturday 13 October, 3pm. Book your free ticket here.

Thy Kingdom Come

Thousands of churches across the UK took part in Thy Kingdom Come this year. Read some of the case studies of churches that were involved and tips on how rural churches can be involved in the future. 

1000 Letters

Write a letter to the young people attending 3Generate and encourage them to be courageous in their faith by sharing your own faith story. The letters will help children and young people feel connected to, and part of, the wider body of the Methodist Church.

Lift the ban

Throughout October, Refugee Action is campaigning to lift the ban preventing those seeking asylum from working. Join the campaign here.

Wesley House theology courses

Four new MA degrees in theology have been announced at Wesley House, Cambridge. Designed to be flexible, ecumenical and global, these degrees are being taught through distance learning, intensive courses and classrooms. Apply now for a January 2019 or September 2019 start.

Centenary lecture

The case for overseas aid and development being in the long-term British interest will be discussed at Wesley Methodist Church, Cambridge. Matthew Rycroft, Permanent Secretary, Department for International Development, will be giving a lecture on Monday 22 October, 7.45pm; admission is free.

In the coming week, the 2018/2019 Methodist Prayer Handbook, A World Transformed, encourages us to pray with Christians in the Carribean and Americas, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent, as well as Britain and Ireland.
