Journeys of Hope

Refugee Week 2020

For many refugees and asylum seekers, the journey they have been on has been one of hope. Hope for change, hope for refuge, hope to be reunited with those they love.

This Refugee Week, we want to highlight some of these stories. At a time when it can be difficult to have hope in the future, what do we have to learn from those who have journeyed across the world to seek safety?

Keep an eye out this week as we share these stories, over on our blog.

As Churches, we have a hope for a society that welcomes the stranger. We believe that we can all play a part in this, by creating a welcoming environment in our churches, communities and as a nation.

You can find out more about our work on this here.

This Refugee Week, raise your voice to call for changes which will bring hope to many refugees and asylum seekers.

Increase Asylum Support

Asylum Seekers currently receive £38.85 per week in support. During normal times, this isn’t enough to live on. During a pandemic, this is dangerous. Offering the right support is crucial for creating an environment where refugees and asylum seekers can find hope for the future.

That’s why we’re joining with Refugee Action to call for asylum support to be raised by £20 – and we need you to join us.
