Climate change – day of action 

The Youth Representatives and Youth President of the Methodist Church have released a statement to support those taking part in the day of action against global climate change on Friday, 20 September.The Joint Public Issues Team has published a blog on what we can all do to support the day of action. Peacemaking Sunday 

This Sunday, 22 September is Peacemaking Sunday. The Fellowship of Reconciliation website has resources to help mark the day with sermon ideas, activities for children, news about international peacework and ways to get involved.

Bahamas Hurricane Appeal Update

All We Can and the Methodist Church in Britain are continuing their joint appeal for those affected in by the hurricane in The Bahamas. Only two weeks after Hurricane Dorian devastated areas of the Bahamas, the islands are facing further damage from heavy rains brought by tropical storm Humberto. You can learn more and donate here.

Is there a Brexit we can all live with?

Paul Morrison, the JPIT policy advisor with particular responsibility for issues including poverty and inequality, considers the dangerous divisions of the Brexit process in his latest blog post that you can read here.

New evangelism resources

Following consultation and theological conversations across the Connexion, the Evangelism and Growth team has launched practical resources to help build an embedded commitment for the present and future life of the Church.  Read more and access the resources here.

Encounter World Wide

Encounter Worldwide offers Christians in Britain and Ireland (aged 18 and over) the opportunity to spend three to twelve months sharing in the Methodist Church’s mission, life and culture in another part of the world. Listen to these interviews with recently returned volunteers, Tiana who has been to Argentina and Louis who visited India.

Homegrown conference 

The Homegrown Conference will be taking place on Tuesday 8th October 2019. Homegrown is a new conference exploring how faith is grown at home, with sessions for family workers and for parents and carers. In the coming week, the 2019/2020 Methodist Prayer Handbook,
