Two new schemes have been launched to continue the ongoing commitment of the Methodist Church in reducing its impact on God’s creation. The new Eco Circuit and Eco District awards have been developed to support the successful Eco Church scheme.

Brexit prayers

Brexit has led to many MPs and their staff receiving abuse, in person, through letters, emails and on social media. The Joint Public Issues Team, JPIT, are calling upon us to send a kind and positive message and to hold them in prayer. Find out more about how you can write to your MP using this template.

Methodist Prayer Handbook

The date for Action for Children Sunday 2019 is incorrect in the ‘Methodist Prayer Handbook: A World Transformed (2018/2019)’, page 50. It should read Action for Children Sunday 2019 on Sunday 14 July 2019 (and not 7 July).

Methodist Diaconal Order

The Methodist Diaconal Order is both an Order of Ministry and a Religious Order within the Methodist Church. A new Methodist Diaconal Order members’ section  has now been launched within the Methodist Church website.

Reflections

In the coming week, the 2018/2019 Methodist Prayer Handbook, A World Transformed, encourages us to pray with Christians in America and Asia, as well as Britain and Ireland. The theme for next week’s A Word in Time Bible studies is ‘No Other Gospel’. Order your Prayer Handbook here.
