Volunteer for 3Generate

This year’s 3Generate will see around 1,200 young people join together in Southport over the weekend 22- 24 November. You can discover the positive impact that the weekend has on the volunteers who make the event possible with these short videos and consider what your gifts could bring by taking part.

Growing Lives grants

Allchurches Trust launched its £1 million Growing Lives grants programme in May. The grants are to help churches build lasting links with local families and to support the next generation in reaching their potential. Grants of up to £25,000 are available. You can find out more at their website.

Science and the Language of Prayer

Science and the Language of Prayer is a series of five seminars to be held at Bramhall Methodist Church in the autumn of 2019. These will explore how a modern understanding of science might influence the way we think about God and the language we use to express our prayers. Deo Gloria Trust

The Deo Gloria Trust has provided continuous support to Christian organisations over the past 55 years. The Trustees have decided to mark the Trust’s 55th year with a special competition and have set aside over £400,000 to be given away in various amounts to the winning charities. All applications must be from charities registered in England and Wales . Find out more.

New Revival Hymn from Wales

The new revival hymn from Wales has now been translated  into the Welsh language, as well as English, and is being sung by groups and congregations in Wales and further afield. It can be heard on by Heaven Direct Music’s website. More information on where to buy sheet music can be found here.

Global Relationships

Dr John and Sharon Harbottle have just returned to the UK after being Methodist Mission Partners in Haiti. John helped the Church with its healthcare programme and Sharon developed education programmes.  You can listen to them discussing their time in Haiti here.

Reflections

In the coming week, the 2018/2019 Methodist Prayer Handbook, ‘A World Transformed, encourages us to pray with Christians in Asia, the Americas and the Caribbean, as well as Britain and Ireland.
