Partnership’s Pentecost Communion Service

On Saturday 30th May, a virtual Pentecost Communion service between the United Reformed Church (URC) and the Evangelische Kirche der Pfalz (Protestant churches of the Palatinate region of Germany), was held via Zoom. The service was led by the Revd Philip Brooks, URC Secretary for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations, and Pfarrer Martin Henninger, Minister of the Lutherkirche in Frankenthal, who is also the Convener of the Friends of the URC of the Evangelische Kirche der Pfalz, a partnership that pre-dates the URC, going back to 1957.  Share this article   Read More… Continue reading

A new weekly prayer initiative launches on 4 June and invites people to pray about the challenging situation many United Reformed Church (URC) congregations, Synods and central staff are facing. URC cancels its 2020 General Assembly

The United Reformed Church (URC) has announced the cancellation of its 2020 General Assembly, the first time the meeting has been cancelled since the URC was founded in 1972. Inductions and some business of the General Assembly will, however, be carried out online. The ongoing threat of coronavirus and the health and safety of General Assembly representatives, the staff of the URC and its Synods, and the government restrictions on so much in public life, is the cause of the cancellation.
