Sunday 20 January 2019 marks 350 years since the birth of Susanna Wesley, the mother of John and Charles Wesley. A prayer to mark the occasion has been written by Jenny Carpenter, Vice-Chair of Trustees at Epworth Old Rectory. A short ‘birth to burial’ pilgrimage will set off from Wesley’s Chapel, London on 20 January, the pilgrimage follows worship which begins at 11.00am.

The St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace is seeking nominations of young adults who are bringing spirituality and action together in powerful new ways for the Sacred Activist of the Year Award.

Regional Learning and Development Officers
|
The Methodist Church is seeking two Regional Learning and Development Officers to cover the East of England. Applications for the positions, one permanent full time and one part time with a fixed term contract, close at noon on 30 January.

Churches Together in England
|
The Children, Youth and Family Team have launched The Well Learning Hub. This YouTube channel contains videos on a range of topics useful for children’s, youth and family workers. Current videos cover topics including spirituality in gaming, inter-generational worship and digital well-being.

On Thursday 7 February Marlborough Road Methodist Church, St Albans is holding another Thinking Lunch. Sally Seddon, the Volunteer Engagement Manager for the charity Shared Interest, will be talking about ‘investing in a fairer world’.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2019 beings on Friday 18 January. This year’s resources are from the churches of Indonesia, where there is a strong emphasis on the need for unity alongside the nation’s ethnic and religious diversity.
